### 什么是套磁？

不知道有没有官方定义。我的理解是指：在申请季提前尝试与目标导师取得联系并留下影响。

### **为什么要套磁？**

目前网上对于套磁的评价比较多元，有的说很有用，有的说浪费时间。

⭐我个人认为套磁过程不会像SoP等材料占用你过多的时间，但是一旦收到积极回复会提升蛮多信心并降低申请季的焦虑感。

⭐同时，套磁选导师的过程中也是对自己研究方向和选校的再一次深度思考。因此，我认为套磁是可以进行的。

当然，如果时间紧张，不套磁也不用担心。

### **怎样套磁？**

#### 选择套磁对象

* 在选校list中选择感兴趣的教授，每个系一般只找一位教授套磁。
* ⭐套磁前一定先仔细看教授的个人主页。有的教授会写明对于套磁信的要求，有的教授会直接说不接受套磁，所以不要撞在枪口上。
* **可以尝试让本科老板帮你套磁\~**

#### 套磁邮件

* 查看目标教授的个人主页，满足教授对于套磁信的所有要求。
* ⭐简洁，不要太长，阅读起来轻松。老师一天收到太多邮件，他能点开你的那封已经是运气很好了。请尽量快速表达清楚你的目的，让他对你有基本的了解，并产生兴趣。
* ⭐可以考虑在当地时间的早上发套磁信。
* ⭐**尽量针对每个老师修改一下套磁信，至少研究方向要对应。**
* 基本内容：
  * 简要自我介绍。学校，专业，GPA，我想在你的 XX 领域读PhD。一句话搞定
  * 今年您招生么（如果实验室网站已经写了要招人，那就可以不问了）
  * ⭐我有相关领域的经验（做过相关的科研、相关的实习、类似的课程project），附上简历网站的链接、文章或报告。
  * 我读了您的文章，但有些问题想和您进一步讨论。（如果读了就写，没读就不写）
  * 期待收到您的回复，主动约面试
  * 附上成绩单和CV
* 某位老师对于套磁信的要求

> In your email, please include the following items

> * Title as “Prospective PhD Student: YourName - YourAffliation”
> * Briefly introduce yourself, including education background, research experiences, and programming skills.
> * Briefly explain your motivations and expectations of working with me Include a PDF version of your CV.

### 套磁邮件模板

* ⭐在你认为值得注意的地方加粗，吸引注意力。但是不宜过多，会显得非常乱。

主题：**Applying for Ph.D. Position-Name-USTC**

正文：

I hope this email finds you well.

I’m XXX, a senior student majoring in **Statistics** at the School of Gifted Young, University of Science and Technology of China. I am writing this email to apply for a Ph.D. position. I have a GPA of 100 /100 in my major.

**Show some research project or insights!**

I'm interested in XXX（对应的研究兴趣，请具体。不要说你对AI感兴趣，太过于空洞）.

As I study deeper, I become more determined to apply for a Ph.D. program next year. Therefore, I hope to have a chance to work with you and would appreciate it if I could have the opportunity to learn from you. Would it be possible to talk with you and if there is a chance for me?

If you are interested, please find my **CV and Transcript** in the attachment. I am looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

* 没有回复：最正常的情况，如果一周内没有回复，自己又非常感兴趣，可以再发一封。如还没有回复，就放弃下一个。
* 回复录取由commetiee决定：为模板回复。只需礼貌回复，表达感谢和意愿。正式提交申请之后可以邮件再次联系。
* 回复鼓励申请：只需礼貌回复，表达感谢和意愿。正式提交申请之后可以邮件再次联系。
* ⭐回复积极，并约面试：恭喜你，好好准备面试！

### 套磁邮件跟进

⭐⭐提交网申之后，趁着**中国新年**的机会，可以给此前有回复的教授发邮件，祝节日快乐，顺带询问申请进度，是否能有面试等。有回复就赚了；没有回复也不要急，该来的总会来，放轻松\~
